(Entity handling personal information)
The Company recognizes appropriate protection and use of personal information to be part of important social responsibilities, and makes every effort to appropriately protect and use personal information of job applicants in complying with the Personal Data Protection Law, other related regulations, and the internal rules of the Company including the Policy, when it conducts business regarding employment.
The Company will acquire, from job applicants, personal information that is necessary to conduct its business by proper and lawful means.
(Purpose of Use)
The Company will specify the purpose of use of personal information of job applicants, will limit use to a necessary range to achieve the purpose of use, and will not exceed that range. Furthermore, the Company will not use personal information of job applicants beyond the purpose limited by related laws and regulations.
The purpose of use of personal information of job applicants is posted upon the Company's website.
(Limitation on Providing Personal Information to a Third Party)
The Company will not provide personal information of the job applicant to any third party in principle unless the individual concerned has agreed to such use or it is authorized by law. However, the Company may provide personal information of the job applicant to relevant entities without the individual's consent in following cases: When the Company entrusts to a third party the management of personal information that is necessary to achieve the purpose of use, when the Company is one of the parties in a merger transaction, and/or when the Company uses personal information jointly with designated entities that are separately provided.
(Handling of Sensitive Information)
The Company is committed to handling personal information in a manner that ensures applicants will not be subject to discrimination, bias, or other disadvantageous treatment based on their ethnicity, beliefs, socioeconomic status, health history, criminal history, history as a victim of a crime, or other personal aspects. In this Policy, "personal information" includes both: a) "special care required personal information" as defined in Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information; and b) information regarding an applicant's current or past membership in a labor union, their family status or origin, the legal address on their family registry, current or past medical care or treatment, sexual orientation or history, and place of birth. In some cases, the information listed in b) may also fall under the categories in a). This excludes information obtained from the applicant and information obtained from public records of national or local government (municipal) organizations, as well as information obtained through observation of the applicant, including photographs and video or voice recordings. The Company will never acquire, use, or share personal information with a third party except when in compliance with laws, regulations, and regulatory guidelines (including cases where the applicant's permission has been received and the acquisition, use, or sharing of the information is within the scope of what is required for business purposes).
The Company will maintain and manage accurate and up to date personal information of job applicants and prevent leakage of information with rational security measures. The Company will properly supervise employees and parties entrusted with handling personal information of job applicants.
The Company will continuously review the Policy according to the development of information technologies, the changes in social demand, etc., and improve the management of the personal information of job applicants.
(Procedures to Request Disclosure)
The Company will endeavor to properly and promptly manage the following requests from job applicants: Notification of the purpose of use; disclosure of personal data; correction, addition and/or deletion of personal data that do not reflect the facts; suspension of use and elimination of personal data; and/or suspension of providing personal data to a third party.
(Opinions and Requests)
The Company will endeavor to cope with opinions and/or requests from job applicants for the management of personal information sincerely and promptly.
