Privacy Policy for the Protection of the Personal Information of Customers

(Entity handling personal information)

Mizuho-DL Financial Technology Co., Ltd. (herein referred to as the "Company") hereby establishes and announces its policy regarding the protection, and its perspective on the handling, of personal information, written below as, "Privacy Policy for the Protection of the Personal Information of Customers" (herein referred to as the "Policy").

(Policy)

The Company recognizes appropriate protection and use of personal information to be part of important social responsibilities, and makes every effort to appropriately protect and use personal information of the customer in complying with the Personal Data Protection Law, other related regulations, and the internal rules of the Company including the Policy, when it conducts business.

(Proper Acquisition)

The Company will acquire, from the customer, personal information that is necessary to conduct its business by proper and lawful means.

(Purpose of Use)

The Company will specify the purpose of use of personal information of customers, will limit use to a necessary range to achieve the purpose of use, and will not exceed that range. Furthermore, the Company will not use personal information of customers beyond the purpose limited by related laws and regulations.
The purpose of use of personal information of customers is posted upon the Company's website.

(Limitation on Providing Personal Information to a Third Party)

The Company will not provide personal information of the customer to any third party in principle unless the individual concerned has agreed to such use or it is authorized by law. However, the Company may provide personal information of the customer to relevant entities without customer consent in following cases: When the Company entrusts to a third party the management of personal information that is necessary to achieve the purpose of use, when the Company is one of the parties in a merger transaction, and/or when the Company uses personal information jointly with designated entities that are separately provided.

(Handling of Sensitive Information)

The Company will not acquire, use and provide to any third party sensitive information (*1) ("sensitive information" as defined in the Guidelines for Protection of Personal Information in the Financial Sector, including "Personal Information Requiring Attention") other than in the cases specified in the said Guidelines such as when authorized by law or it is necessary to conduct business on condition that the Company has customer consent.

  • *Race, beliefs, social status
  • *Medical history, healthcare and sex life
  • *Criminal record, fact of suffering damage from crime
  • *Participation in labor union
  • *Family origin, legal address on family registry
  • *Other personal information requiring special attention in handling in order not to cause unjust discrimination, prejudice, or other disadvantage on the information subject

(Security Measures)

The Company will maintain and manage accurate and up to date personal information of customers and prevent leakage of information with rational security measures. The Company will properly supervise employees and parties entrusted with handling personal information of customers.

(Continuous Improvement)

The Company will continuously review the Policy according to the development of information technologies, the changes in social demand, etc., and improve the management of the personal information of customers.

(Procedures to Request Disclosure)

The Company will endeavor to properly and promptly manage the following requests from customers: Notification of the purpose of use; disclosure of personal data; correction, addition and/or deletion of personal data that do not reflect the facts; suspension of use and elimination of personal data; and/or suspension of providing personal data to a third party.

(Opinions and Requests)

The Company will endeavor to cope with customer opinions and/or requests for the management of personal information sincerely and promptly.
